MLK Day

A brief reminder that school is closed tomorrow, January 17 for Dr Martin Luther King, Jr Day. School will resume a normal schedule on Tuesday, January 18.

Light up the night

The Community Coalition on Race is holding its 21st annual Dr Martin Luther King, Jr Observance on Monday, by displaying luminaries as we light the night and celebrate this year's theme, "Serving Something Greater Than Ourselves." More information on how you can participate is here.

…in the Tuscan Walk-A-Thon! While the details are still being, er, detailed, the PTA is in search of a few more volunteers to help plan the event, which is set for the Spring. Interested? Get in touch by emailing TuscanPTAPres@gmail.com.

Let's go to the fair!

Planning for this year’s Tuscan Fair is fully underway. The annual event was paused due to the pandemic (like everything else…) but it’s back again this year. The Tuscan Fair is epic! It’s an old school (pun intended!) outdoor fair with sand art, games, a ride or two, the chance for kids to win tickets and then trade them for prizes, etc. We need volunteers to help make it happen, but also to shadow this year’s main organizers with a view to taking over the lead next year. Letâ€™s (virtually) go to the book fair!

The annual Tuscan Book Fair (virtual this year… sigh) will open a week from Monday on January 24 and will run until February 6. We will send a link to the e-fair next week. Families will also have an opportunity to purchase books for our teachers’ wish lists. In addition to buying great books, your support will earn the PTA “Scholastic Bucks” – which we can use to buy even more books for our classrooms and the Tuscan library.

BTB! Cradle! D-Middie! Do these terms mean anything to you? If they do, you’ll be pleased to know that Spring registration for the Maplewood Girls Lacrosse Club Clinic is open. Registration is open until the end of January for Team Play (Grades 3-8) and until February 28 for Little Laxers (K-grade 2). Think your kid will want to get her cleats in the grass?
