SUBJECT: Tuscan PTA Newsletter 9/25

This is a good time for some celebration. Happy New Year to those families celebrating Rosh Hashanah! It’s also Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 - October 15), and all over Maplewood, there are opportunities to celebrate Hispanic culture. And on October 24, it's Diwali, the festival of light celebrated by Hindus, Jains, and Sikhs. It’s also officially Fall, and that means apple picking, baking, and cooking.

Here's the scoop

Like ice cream? Hanging out? Like those two things together? This Friday, September 30, the annual Tuscan PTA Ice Cream Social is BACK! Each student will be issued with two free tickets, and additional tickets will be available for $2 each. Just show up on Friday to the front lawn at Tuscan at 5:30pm and have some fun! Non-dairy options will be available. Want to help? We need you! Sign up here.

Back to School Night Childcare

The good news is that Back To School Night is in person (yay!), the even better news is that the PTA has arranged for an onsite childcare option through the partnership with the Y. More information will make its way to you through your TT’s backpack. Or you can sign up here.

Meet Mochi!

Entering into the Tuscan community very soon is Tibetan Terrier, Mochi. This lovely, friendly, cuddly canine will work with Ms. Buggy as Tuscan’s first-ever therapy dog. Mochi is a fully trained therapy dog, and from what we’ve heard, is a pretty smart pup. He has also done a brain games class where he learned to identify the colors blue and yellow and learned some sight words.

Make a difference to CHS grads

The Tuscan PTA donates to the Columbia High School Scholarship Fund every year for Tuscan Elementary alumni who graduate CHS and need a boost to the next education level. We know that our help makes a difference. To find more information or to make a donation, please visit here.
