SUBJECT: PTA Newsletter 10/2

You blink, and it’s October. How did that happen? A second ago, we were filing back into the school building and now, we’re in the full swing of things! And what a way to cap off the first month of school on Friday at the Ice Cream Social! It was busy, buzzy, and a sweet way to end the week. Thank you to everyone who organized and attended. Let’s get at this…

WEDNESDAY!

Now that I have your attention… this is a reminder that school is closed for Yom Kippur on Wednesday.

Wash that face, brush those teeth

Picture Day is on!!! Unlike the delightful weather over this weekend, the rain is going way so on October 3 and 4 dress your TT to impress. Your student will come home with a numbered voucher explaining how to order.

What did you miss?!

Wanted to join the PTA meeting last week but didn’t know where? (our bad, next month we’ll circulate meeting details). Read through what was discussed here.

What you need to know about the yearbook

Send Us Your Snaps: We've created a Google Drive folder where families can upload photos from events throughout the year, such as photos from the Tuscan Ice Cream Social! We prefer group shots so that we can ensure we get all kids into the yearbook! Please include the name and grade of child within the file name. Alternatively, you can email photos to tuscanyearbook@gmail.com.

5% Discount in October: Want to check 'Order Yearbook' off your to-do list? Receive a 5% discount if ordering in October! For detailed instructions, see the attached flyer. More of the last-minute type? You have until the Spring so we'll remind you later.

Yearbooks for 5th Graders: Softcover yearbooks with two customizable pages *will* be complimentary this year for 5th grade students. This is not yet reflected in Treering, but there is no need to rush to order. You can always upgrade to a hardcover and add custom pages for an extra fee up until April 27. If you're not interested in customizing any pages or upgrading to a hardcover -- you don't have to do anything on TreeRing; your 5th grader will receive a book.

SEPAC SOMA: Hear from the District

This meeting will be virtual. Susie Budine, Assistant Superintendent of Special Services, will share an overview of Special Education programs, classes and services in our district on Monday October 17 at 7:30pm. SEPAC is the Special Education Parent Advisory Committee for SOMSD. Please visit sepacsoma.org to learn more and sign up for meeting notices.

A little help from our friends... in second grade

Second-Grader, Eva Ruhe and her friends collected funds for the PTA at Porchfest selling drinks to thirsty listeners. They raised over $120 which they would like to donate to Ms. Popp and the Tuscan Library. Eva presented the PTA with a check on Friday. Thank you Eva and friends!
