Save the Date for the Tuscan Walk-a-thon!

Lace up your shoes and mark your calendars as the Tuscan PTA Walk-A-Thon is coming! Live DJ, prizes, refreshments, giveaways! Expect all of this and more on Thursday, June 2 (rain date, June 9) when we hit the pavement together, get our bodies moving and enjoy some fresh air. All funds raised from this event will help the Tuscan School PTA continue to offer important events and initiatives, including assemblies and book fairs, for the entire Tuscan community. So get your sneakers ready and stay tuned for more details, next steps, and ways to get involved.

The Tuscan Fair is right around the corner next Saturday, April 30 10:30am to 2:30pm - and we cannot wait for a day of fun and festivities! But we need YOUR help to make it happen. There are still loads of easy, low commitment ways to help out. Please sign up here.

Last chance to find your lost items

There are loads of coats, sweatshirts and other items that your kiddos have lost at school. Most of what is there is unlabeled and waiting for you! It is displayed outside of the front entrance of school every day in the mornings and afternoons, but this is it folks - after the Tuscan Fair it will be donated! Please come check for items this week or at the fair!

Get your creative engines running

The Achieve Foundation is bringing Maker Madness to SOMA on Saturday, April 30 10am-2pm. It's the same day as The Tuscan Fair, so why not have a full day of fun? This popular STEM event will feature free hands-on activities at CHS's Ritzer Field and the Springfield Avenue Gazebo, plus Take+Make kits to pick up at various locations around the two towns. Rain date: Sunday, May 1. More details here.

Summertime is coming!

Still ironing out your summer plans for your Tuscan Tiger? Worried that you missed out on ALL the camps? Fear not! The SOMA Adult School Children’s Summer Program is open for registration. Operating June 27 to July 22, you little tikes can do all sorts of fun activities like filmmaking, cooking, claymation, ultimate frisbee, yoga, and more. Find out more here.

Earth Day Auction- Get it while you can!

The Seth Boyden PTA's 2022 online Earth Day Auction is open, but today (April 24) is the last day! They're auctioning more services and experiences (rather than "stuff") and highlighting local businesses committed to "green-ness." Prizes include spa days, family experiences (Harry Potter on Broadway tix!!), healthy choices (family membership to Lifetime fitness) and civic service opportunities (be Maplewood Kid Mayor or South Orange Village President for a Day!)

The auction is open to the SOMA community and beyond! All proceeds support the Seth Boyden PTA. Seth Boyden serves a vibrant and diverse cross section of students in K-5. It is the ONLY Title 1 elementary school in our community, meaning at least 43% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch.

CHS Scholarship Fund

The Tuscan PTA is a proud donor to the Columbia High School Scholarship Fund, another all-volunteer organization. Its mission is to provide need-based scholarships to CHS seniors and graduates to continue with their post-high school education. Our donation will go specifically towards an award for a Tuscan Tiger alum as they graduate CHS! The awards can be used toward two and four year colleges, trade, technical and graduate school.
