Reunite with old friends

Where is the left glove?! What happened to that sweater granny knit?! Is the school really a big void that swallows water bottles?! Find the answers to your soul searching questions in the Lost and Found that is wheeled out every day at drop off and dismissal. Anything unclaimed will be donated. We've extended the deadline and the Lost and Found will be rolled out until the week after the Winter Break.

Donate a Toy, Donate your Coat

The Parenting Center is now accepting toy donations, which will be given as gifts to children living in SOMA. More info can be found here but the Parenting Center is accepting donations until December 16.
 
SOMA Shares is collecting gently used and freshly laundered baby to teen-styled/sized winter coats, snow boots and snow pants. We will also collect new hats and gloves. Drop off at 6 Oberlin Street, Maplewood until December 17. Questions? Email somashareseveryday@gmail.com.

Pajama Drive & Pajama Day!

Each year our school, under the guidance of the wonderful Ms. Claire Gianni Sinclair, collects warm pajamas for our community.
 
Kids also celebrate with Pajama Day on December 16th!!
 
You can drop new pajamas to your class on December 16th or send directly to Nora before December 15th. Check out all the information here.

Holiday Gift Fund: Specialists, School Staff & Crossing Guards

It takes a village...or a whole school to enrich our kids daily lives.
 
At the holidays, the PTA collects for non-classroom special-subject teachers, lunch and administrative staff, custodial and nursing staff and our crossing guards. We ask a lot but please give as generously as you can to those that give so much of themselves for our kids!!
 
You can contribute to the fund here or give cash or a check (payable to Tuscan PTA) in a sealed envelope addressed to the PTA Treasurer to your child's teacher by December 18th.

Thanksgiving Gift Card Drive

The PTA/HSA President's Council is proud to announce a partnership with Achieve Foundation of South Orange and Maplewood to centralize Thanksgiving meal support for food insecure families across our elementary and middle schools.
 
Please consider a donation no later than Sunday 11/20. Donations will be utilized to support K-8 families across the district (Cougar Cares will be providing support for CHS).
 
Our goal is to provide food for the Thanksgiving weekend to the 700+ families in need in this district.

Tuscan Show Directors - WE NEED YOU!

Here’s the deal: We need more Tuscan Show Directors! We don't have enough and if we don't have enough, we'll have to limit the number of skits and if we limit the number of skits, we'll have to do a lottery, and if we do a lottery, not every Tuscan Tiger will make it and the kids will be so sad. Sign up here!

Thanksgiving drive is underway

Every November, the PTA raises money for Tuscan families to help them with their Thanksgiving meal.  We hope to help between 35 and 40 families and raise between $3,500 and $4,000 by November 18.

 

Want to help? Here's how:

  • Donate online here
  • Send a check to your child’s classroom made payable to the Tuscan PTA - please write ‘Thanksgiving Drive’ in the memo line
  • Send cash to your child’s classroom in an envelope marked ‘Thanksgiving Drive’.

Any donations will be used by the PTA to purchase grocery store gift cards. We will give these to Ms. Buggy, our school social worker. We use grocery store gift cards so each family can celebrate the holiday according to their own tastes and cultural traditions.
