Costumes allowed on Halloween (Optional), with Guidelines

10/29/2024 2:21 pm

Our Tigers will have the option to wear Halloween costumes to school on Thursday, October 31.

If the cost of a costume is prohibitive, the Tuscan PTA is happy to offer support. Please reach out confidentially to our School Social Worker Ms. Lillman.

If your child plans to wear a costume please review and follow the SOMSD Guidelines noted below:

  • Inflatable costumes, makeup, and wigs may not be worn during the entire day; they may only be put on during the last hour of the day as they are too much of a distraction.
  • Costumes should not include any mask that covers the face or may impair vision when walking
  • Costumes cannot contain weapons or anything that might be perceived as a weapon. No swords, guns, sticks, knives, or grenades.
  • Food and/or beverages will not be included in class instruction or celebrations during the school day, nor may “goodie bags” (i.e., candy intended to leave the classroom to be consumed on special occasions) be distributed.

Tuscan Farmers Market - Help Needed!

10/21/2024 7:03 am

We are so excited to bring the Farm to Tuscan and help teach our kids about healthy foods and sustainability but we need your help!

For set up, we need lots of STRONG volunteers to help us carry produce from the front of the school to the school atrium. Even if you only have 20 minutes at 9:00 a.m., that would be great!

We also need two tables dropped off at Tuscan to use for the market, as well as dollies to carry the produce. If you have them to loan, let us know ASAP!

Sign up here and see the teacher schedule so you know when your Tiger's class will be "shopping" the market!

**We also need reusable bags!** Last year we had hundreds, but we went through them all!

Please contact Laura with questions or see her at drop off for bag collection.
