Tuscan School PTA Welcomes You to 2022-2023 School Year

Dear New and Returning Tuscan Elementary School Families,

We welcome our new students and their families to Tuscan Elementary! We are so happy that your child(ren) will be joining our great school this year. As parents and caregivers of current Tuscan Elementary students, we know it is emotional and challenging starting a new school, but it is also very exciting. Magically, our kids start to read, form new friendships and become smart little humans. Parents make new friends too. With Covid19 better under control and construction near completion, this should be a full year of programming and connection. 

In the meantime, there is much to think about, and you, no doubt, will have lots of questions about how it will work at your new school. Your teachers will reach out before the first day with instructions for their individual classrooms. They always come out to greet you and their students to escort them to class. For K-2 it is mandatory that you stay in line with your student. Signs are posted to indicate where you will line up. 

New families, we hope you had a chance to attend either the virtual or in-person orientation in June but if you missed anything please reach out at tuscanschoolpta@gmail.com or on the Facebook page 'Tuscan Families'. If you didn't meet the Tuscan Tiger, it will be back on the first day of school - September 8 - serving coffee to you on the front lawn and hoping to bring a smile to your face! Do you know the school motto? It is R.O.A.R. Respect Others, Act Responsibly. Our Tigers learn it and live it. 

Back to School Night will be in person at Tuscan on October 13th from 6:30pm - 8:pm and you will get to sit in those tiny chairs this year, see all the wonderful learning tools on the walls and meet our hardworking teachers. 

On behalf of the PTA, we'd like to give you some reassurance and information to make your journey easier during the school year. We will also have loads of fun and informative events and programming. Participating in these events is a great way to get to know the teachers, staff, and the families who form the amazing and caring community that Tuscan is known for. We hope you become a member of the PTA, you can join here. It is $12 per member. Please reach out confidentially to Ms. Majeed or our Social Worker Ms. Buggy if cost is prohibiting your participation. And even if you don't join the PTA (but we sure hope you do), you should still create your Membership Toolkit account (it's the platform designed for PTAs and what we use to host our website) so you can opt-in to our weekly newsletter, volunteer for different events, purchase spirit wear and receive important communications. 

Please also join our monthly PTA meetings to catch up on important news around school. We will continue to keep these meetings virtual as it is most convenient for families. The PTA meeting schedule can be found here, along with all other events such as District wide closings for holidays and other Tuscan specific events like the Tuscan Show, the Tuscan Fair and more! Volunteers will be recruited for many of these events, so stay tuned for opportunities to get involved. 

Lastly, please share your ideas, your concerns and your visions. Our collective goal is to create a great learning experience for our kids, show our teachers how much we appreciate and support them and to cultivate an inclusive, diverse community where everyone feels a vital, welcome part. Again, keep an eye out for letters from your child's teachers and important notices from our Parent/Class Coordinator.
