On September 17, the streets of Newstead will be shut for the annual 5km run/walk event. This run is the kick off to the SOMA running calendar and a great fundraiser for a wonderful cause. Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in one of our most loved community events, with the race starting at 9AM from the South Mountain School Annex. This is a chip timed-run and there will be a dedicated Kid’s Fun Run (sponsored by the Able Baker) that will take place shortly after the 5K completion. And if you have a conflict for Saturday, you can still run or walk virtually anytime that weekend. Race registration is $35 and is easy to do through our RunSignUp page. All registrants receive our popular race day T-shirt, while supplies last!

Tuscan School PTA Welcomes You to 2022-2023 School Year
8/30/2022 6:57 pm
Dear New and Returning Tuscan Elementary School Families,
We welcome our new students and their families to Tuscan Elementary! We are so happy that your child will be joining our great school this year. As parents and caregivers of current Tuscan Elementary students, we know it is emotional and challenging starting a new school, but it is also exciting. Magically, our kids start to read, form new friendships and become smart little humans. Parents make new friends too. With Covid19 better under control and construction near completion this should be a full year of programming and connection.
In the meantime, there is much to think about, and you, no doubt, will have lots of questions about how it will work at your new school. Your teachers will reach out before the first day with instructions for their individual classrooms. They always come out to greet you and their students to escort them to class. For K-2 it is mandatory that you stay in line with your student. Signs are posted to indicate where you will line up.

- Fourth graders: orange
- Fifth graders: red - NOTE: all 5th graders will be given a red shirt on Thursday, 6/23 as a gift to celebrate their moving up.
