You may have seen some of us selling Tuscan Fair tickets at drop off this morning. Didn't bring cash? Never fear! We'll be out every morning and afternoon this week, just look for the signs around the school grounds. Pre-event pricing is $10 for a bundle of 50 tickets (day of is $10 for a bundle of 40 tickets) and we suggest 1-2 bundles for each kiddo attending.

Tuscan Tiger Families - It's YEARBOOK time!

1. The bad news: You only have six days to add the optional customized pages to your Tigers’ books.
2. The good news: You have six days!
3. The other good news: You can even include the optional customized pages if you order late and have it shipped directly to you

• Also, you don’t have to create custom pages - they are optional.
• If you create custom pages you get two for free and then have the option to add more and pay for them by the double page spread ($.99 cents per double page spread).
• If you create custom pages, they only show up in your student’s book.
• If you miss the May 15th deadline, you have the option to complete your order later, with custom pages. You’ll just have to pay for shipping to your home.

Save the Date for the Tuscan Walk-a-thon!

Lace up your shoes and mark your calendars as the Tuscan PTA Walk-A-Thon is coming! Live DJ, prizes, refreshments, giveaways! Expect all of this and more on Thursday, June 2 (rain date, June 9) when we hit the pavement together, get our bodies moving and enjoy some fresh air. All funds raised from this event will help the Tuscan School PTA continue to offer important events and initiatives, including assemblies and book fairs, for the entire Tuscan community. So get your sneakers ready and stay tuned for more details, next steps, and ways to get involved.

Art for Ukraine

Fire In The Belly, run by Tuscan parent Barbara Bickert, is teaming up with Good Crowd Events and The Herb + Milly Iris Gallery at SOPAC to host an Art for Ukraine pop-up art sale on May 1 from 1pm to 4pm in the SOPAC lobby.

All proceeds from the event will go to RAZOM, which is providing critical humanitarian war relief and recovery for people in Ukraine. 

For Artists interested in donating work REGISTER HERE by April 26. Artwork should be dropped off at the SOPAC lobby on Saturday, April 30, 2022, 10am - 1pm.

Volunteer for the Tuscan Show!

Have you always wanted to work a concession stand? Maybe you have experience selling merch at a show. Well, the Tuscan Show needs you! We need a handful of volunteers to take charge of Tuscan Show concessions and with selling the recording of the show. The Tuscan Fair is right around the corner - April 30 10:30am to 2:30pm - and we cannot wait for a day of fun and festivities! But we need YOUR help to make it happen.

We have many low-commitment (and did we mention, super fun?!) opportunities for you to be involved with this great Tuscan tradition. And hurrah, no prior experience required! We’ll be there to show you the ropes, it’s all very simple.

Can’t be there on the day? Could you lend 30 minutes of your time before school to sell tickets? Or help move some things on Friday evening? There’s something for everyone! Find a friend to sign up with, bring a grandparent or aunt, everyone is welcome :) Are you game? Sign up here!

It's Autism Acceptance Week @ Tuscan!

This week we will celebrate Autism Acceptance Week at Tuscan with some fun themed days. Our goal is to help the students understand that both awareness and acceptance are required to ensure that our family and friends with autism thrive and enjoy the benefits of inclusion, equality and support within the educational system, workplace and society.

Here's how you can participate this week:

Magnificent Mind Monday: Celebrate how amazing it is that all our minds work in different wonderful ways! Wear a fun hat or wild hairdo!

Neurodiversity Tuesday: To celebrate the beauty in the diverse spectrum of the human mind, wear rainbow or tie-dyed clothes. 

What’s Your Passion Wednesday: One characteristic of autism is to show incredibly focused passion for topics of interest. Dress in a way that shows your passion/something you love! 

Sensory Passion Thursday: People with autism often have a variety of sensory sensitivities. Dress in your comfiest clothes or pjs!  

Autism Acceptance Friday: Tuscan Tigers roar each day by showing kindness, love and acceptance. Wear your Tuscan gear!

Beyond the Bell Spring Session Starts Thursday 3/24

Beyond the Bell is back for Spring, yay! Below are details and reminders for those that have children participating in this upcoming session starting Thursday 3/24. 

The highlights: 

• Class runs from 3:15-4:25 pm on Thursday and Friday. 
• Class dates can be found at https://www.somsd.k12.nj.us/district/btb/brbcal/
• If your child is getting picked up after class, please pick them up at the designated door listed below. 
• If your child attends the YMCA onsite, their instructor will bring them to the YMCA after class is over.  
• If your child has permission to walk home (only for those in grades 3-5), their instructor will have them sign themselves out and dismiss after class is over.
